WHAT IS IT?
Mural painting is an artistic painting that forms an integral part of the room or building. It can be carried out directly on the wall surface or painted elsewhere and then mounted permanently in place. Fixed paintings on ceilings and on facades are also called murals. It is thus a form of architecture-related or building-related art.
Murals have a very long history as mediators of stories or as support for storytelling. Church paintings are examples of such a function.
